great name, sounds like a great place, obviously the leader (you) is motivated, I fear that this particular forum might not reach enough folks to garner interest. Have you tried posting on Talking Bear's list of events? I am sure there are others also. Don't give up yet.

Arizona has a lot of folks who hunt with muzzleloaders, but few ever get involved beyond the hunting aspect. But, it's ok, I will be spending the summer in the highlonesome myself, and plan on some trekking and camping while out. I don't need people around me to have a great time, so will have a great time. There's a small lake up there seldom used that has artic grayling and Apache trout in it, and I aim to try a few of them.  hntr

I'll keep watching  your posts.  Never been up in that set of mts in south AZ.  Sorry I missed you at the winter shoot.  Wife was sick the week before shoot and I took care of her and 5mo. old grand son all week. Then my turn to be sick for  week of shoot. Finally all out of bed, so went to mt cabin for a few days.  Now trying  to get back to work...

Doug.

I tried to send you a pm about the NMLRA shoot, but not sure if it went through. Don't want to talk about it here.

Well, I went trekking twice and had a blast, cooked my grub over a fire and kicked back relaxing, read some and hid out. Went twice so far. Shot my smoke pole quite a bit to, had a blast. I don't know how to post pictures so none are here. First time was four days, three the second. Fire danger to high now so have decided to wait and see if we get rain in July. If we get enough, I'm going out again. My one man club is doing fine up on the high lonesome.

beezlebob,  its good to hear you are well and enjoying life's pleasures.  But when you go on those treks and campouts,   I tend to think you may not be alone.  Spiritually,  you may have a full camp,  enjoying the time with you.

Well, I sometimes feel I'm not alone, but I'm to busy enjoying myself to worry about folks from years past. I need to figure out a way to move the wife up there permanently.

Well, decided that the highlonesome is on, and we, me and my friend Max, four short legs, have been out three times this summer with one more planned in a week or so. Found a beautiful place about half the distance to where I usually go. Very rugged and very dense in the tree department. Checked out some camping spots, campgrounds and a nice creek. I love this time of year, only one person in the campground and he was a working weekender. With kids back in school, and most folks working, the middle of the week is great, I can have it to myself. Tons of Abert's squirrels, lots of birds, and deer. Fall leaves sure make it fun right now.

Makes me wish I was not in college and had time to join!

Love this time of the year, cooling down, not so many people getting in your way, and you live in a great area for what you are doing, congratulations.

Today I found out about two rondy's taking place this month, one is only an hour from our home here in AZ. Wish I'd found out earlier, as it is I'm committed to another deal.
A year ago I joined a group in Northern AZ, paid my dues, and it's been months since we got a newsletter. We should've received on with this information in it, and no one bothered to post in these forums either. The club sponsoring the rondy has a place on their website for those interested in joining. I filled out the information and sent it in, three times this year, and have never received a thing back from them. This pretty much tears it for me, at least at my rondy in the highlonesome, I know where and when it is. Guess I'll be sticking to that. Heck, I even wrote our newsletter editor asking about a newsletter, no reply even.

Please remember that we don't subscribe to a service which tells us about Rondy's... The rest of the membership posts when they want to about rondy's they know of...

As far as the newsletters - I can't say anything... the clubs I belong to stopped using them and have gone to internet emails for newsletters and even those get spread out from time to time.
