Title: Big bore shoot
Post by: gunmaker on January 18, 2016
I've finished an English 8 bore (.829) rifle.  Yesterday I took her to range for a shake down before mailing it off.
I shot 150 gr 2fg .020 patched .810 ball.  At 20 yd. bench it gave a 3 shot cloverleaf group.
Recoil not as bad as expected, nothing like a .375 H&H or even a .338
30" tapered oct Oregon barrel co. tube, walnut stock, 14 lb.Take a look & click on pic to see few more...comments.....Tom

That's quite a squirrel rifle. Can't hit the squirrel, take down the tree. Very nicely done Tom.

Carrying a 14 lb. rifle would be a chore but welcome when shooting time started.

Is a commercial .810 mold available? I've never looked for one.  ;D
