So if the good Lord is willing and the creeks don't rise (fat chance of that happening out here anytime soon) a fellow conspirit...ah friend and I are trekking out into the wilderness in a couple of days to do in the Badger Man. With Bruce snugly tied down in the bed of the truck its just about 80 miles of road and 40 miles of modified mule track through the woods up to an old gravel airstrip next to a half empty lake with a few feisty residents and some thirsty bears. As petrified as I am of old Ursus Americanus (Latin for American Black Bear) they don't really bother me as long as they stay on their side of the road. Naw the fun part is that right now is the height of the harvest season for the old cannabis farmers who have innundated the public lands with illegal pot farms, and those guys make the bears look like furry kittens. But I have been brushing up on my Spanish and since I was already part of a group that used to hunt these guys, we will have our eyes open and a few, well let's just say some "not so historically correct' firearms, loaded and ready. Besides, we will have a cannon, what do they think they will do? So it looks like it is BLD-48 hours or so. (Badger's Last Day) If anyone has any last words for our soon to be departed leader, now is the time to share, while he can still appreciate them. :'(
Not sure if we can count the badger out yet, he is resilient...................................just in case though================

One phrase I learned that has come in handy is, "De jeme solo!" (Leave me alone!). If that doesn't work, point the cannon at them.
Now that the Badger has been dispatched, his relatives have started seeking revenge. However as they say, don't eat at a place called Mom's, don't play cards with a guy named Doc, and don't mess with "Bruce, Badger Blaster of the Wild Frontier". blah Especially when said cannon is guided by my unerring hand. As you can see, this smaller cousin of the late lamented Red Badger got a little too close.

He put up a good fight, but alas, the poor creature was unceremoniously launched via good old Holy Black about 200 yards into the neighboring vineyard. :'( Let's just hope that any surviving members of the Badger clan who wish to remain survivors learn from this lesson and make the wise choice of turning back at the border lest they too become cannon fodder.
How did you get powder into the cannon with that poor feller in the bore? Don't you know that that is cruel and might cause a barrel bulge?

For critter based artillery I defer to the late, great Johnny Horton who describes it in his instructive song "Battle of New Orleans". Provisions were made for switching from reptilian style cannoning to one based on rodentia. There shall never be bulging, I keep Bruce on a controlled diet. ROFL
Finally was able to convert a video off my stupid Iphone and can show the video of the mole (which is obviously a smaller better looking version of a badger) being launched into the vineyard across the way. I know I am mentally deficient but now that my daughter is a head doctor, I am getting help whether I want it or not.

I just watched that and if I was the owner of that cannon and lived in that state I would be very cautious lest I go to jail for animal cruelty.... Left coast people do not have much tolerance....
