Whats the difference if any between Track of the Wolf mink oil patch lube and the paste stuff you buy to waterproof leather?

None, as long as it is ONLY mink oil and has nothing else in it. No silicone or other additives.

Kiwi and most of the other leather-treating compounds do contain silicone. Some don't list the other ingredients so it's difficult to know. To be sure, use the TOTW stuff. It's not very expensive.

I finally got the TOTW mink oil and like it.  No, it's not expensive in the least.

For me in central Texas it gets too thin in hot weather.  I am just starting to try out Frontier's Patch Lube but looks promising at 100*.

I like bear tallow mixed with beeswax. No idea how it would work in hot weather though. I'm more concern with how it works in cold weather.

I use either neatsfoot (100% pure,) or olive oil and beeswax
