Title: rifle strap
Post by: James Robertson on October 09, 2014
I wanted a simple strap to use with my rifle and my fusil. I made this from hemp bought at Wal Mart

Good job!  Question: I've made straps out of the WalMart stuff.  How do you keep it from raveling?

Nice strap and nice bags too. I use a lot of hemp twine & cord, mostly for handle wraps and I almost always coat them with beeswax. I have not even thought of trying to weave anything (nor am I likely to in the foreseeable future, too many projects already) Did you coat the strap with anything or is it just raw hemp?

I just run it through a cake of beeswax and then use melted beeswax on it afterwards
