this guy does some nice work , but , https://www.etsy.com/listing/111679649/custom-flat-powder-horn-no-2012-01-ships?ref=sr_gallery_4&ga_search_query=powder+horns&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery I just cant see paying that for this , some of his horns go for $1,500 bucks , and there are several horners on this site who do better work at nowhere near the prices he charges !
it's certainly nicer than anything I could do but, for that kind of money you could get 2 or 3 of horner75's horns which are more authentic & much better lookin'. my opinion & yer welcome to it, bubba.
Nice looking horns,BUT,as stated above there are horn makers on here who do better in my opinion,of course they work out of a shop not a studio and don't put their products on pedestals.
Must be a lot of overhead with that studio.
Nice looking Horns, But I will stick with my cheap Crazy crow Trading Post horn.
I concur, nice horn, but I'll stick with my Austin Walkers and October country.

Same here except it's Austin Walker, Powder Horns & more and finally my personalized one.
I have two, so it was plural.
I'll stick witht he 2 no name horns I have and my "Stumblin Wolf" Patience horn.
I have half a dozen powder horns, two I bought off Ebay for less than $20 and the rest I made for ahh let me remember, oh yeah, nothing. All these do is hold powder and let you pour powder out of them. After a minimum effort in tweaking and polishing, all of them do that well. There have been many beautiful and outstanding horns built by members here and I admire them all and would love to have any of them. I readily admit that I do not possess any talent in the carving arts and am in awe of those that do. But to pay $350 and up for something that does a simple task and if I am using it will be banged up in no time makes no sense at all to me. For $350 I can build a decent rifle that will have way more return than a fancy horn ever could.
as I said ! granted , he does a nice horn , but so do I ! and so do many on this site or the horners bench . these are carved nicely but otherwise basically nothing special ! I`d feel a little seedy charging $1,500 for a nice map horn , and I know they take a lot of talent and are worth much more than I charge for a horn ! but still cant wrap my mind around this guys pricing ! skrt

I have one Austin Walker horn and one Powder Horns & More horn plus my personalized horn(three in all). I wasn't correcting you Dogshirt, I knew you meant more than one Austin Walker horn. ;D
I have only one simple but sturdy horn, acquired from my good friend Crazell.
It, as Ron himself, will do to ride the river with. thmbsup
;D
Sorry, but that horn is worth maybe $75.00. The display stand? who needs a display stand for a Powder Horn? Also 18 to 24 months for a special order? thanks but no thanks.
Flat horns are a special pain in the butt to make and I have had a lot less success with them than regular horns. I have cracked some very nice ones while in the press. But must confess I love them to death. It will be a long time before I would pay that kind of money for a flat horn. Also like one of the other members have said, there are members on this forum that make better looking horns for a lot less money.
that was basically my thought on it ! I`ve done a couple of flat horns and they can be a pain in the nether regions , but his prices are way out of line !
Agreed! I would never pay that kind of money for a horn.
