My health seamed to be going down hill for me the last 6 months so my doctors have been doing several tests and the verdict came back last week. I have a coaration of my aorta. That is big fancy words for a pinched aorta. I have had it pinched since I was born. I am just lucky to still be here. You really sit up and pay attention when the doctor says the life expectancy of someone with this condition is 40 to 45 years old and you are pushing 60. The good Lord has given me a few extra years. The more I read about it the more blessed I realize I have been. So basically, my back is against the wall and I don't have many choices. Do nothing and wait for major aneurysm or rupture or have surgery. So I go in for a bypass surgery Wednesday and will have a stent put in my aorta in 2 to 3 weeks. So I would appreciate your prayers. I have a top notch Vascular surgeon that specializes in aorta repair so I know I will be in good hands. Still there are alot that can go wrong. So it looks like I will be down for a few weeks. Just keep me in your payers.
Good luck redhawk. You'll be in my prayer's.May the Lord guide his hands and for fast recovery.Keep us posted.Blessings to you and your family.
Heartfelt prayers and good wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Prayers on the way
Red hawk your in luck, I've been living with one of the first stainless stents used for over 15 years and it's great. You'll feel better than you have in years once it's installed and rehab is over.
Prayers up
I want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers!! The by pass surgery went pretty much as expected. The surgeon said my artery was embedded pretty deep, but they got the by pass in without any problems. It took a lot out of me . I don't have any energy. It is just going to take a little time. I knew this operation I would not see much positive results. So I am just laying around taking it easy. The doctor said I should be recouped and ready to have the stent put in by the first of July. I'll just be glad when it is all behind me. Again thanks for your prayers!
Glad to know that the procedure went well. Rest now but get up and moving as soon as you can. This is the good news that I needed to hear, I've been a little depressed lately and needed something positive; you're it! chrrs
That is great news, take it slow and let everything work for you.
Prayer on the way
redhawk, did I just meet you and your buddy Paddler at Fort Recovery?
Hope things are going better for you.
I had a follow up visit to the surgeon on Wednesday. He said everything looked well for the by pass he did on 6/11 . So it looks like everything is on go for Monday to correct my aorta. I would once again appreciate your prayers. I will be glad when all this is behind me. This will be the tedious part. I am thankful I have one of the best surgeons in the area performing the operation. I just hope this is worth it.
You got them my friend! Hang in there, we're with you in spirit.

Here also.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers! My surgery went well last Monday. My the blood flow in my aorta has increased from about 15% before the surgery to about 80% now. I have not yet saw any positive effects. Having two surgeries in less than a month on my heart has left me really weak. It is going to take time to get back in shape. In the mean time I got a lot of laying around to do. I'll be glad when I can walk and peddle around. Whoever said "you don't appreciate good health until you lose it!" was exactly right. Anyway, when I get a little mobile I have a couple projects I 'll have time to work on now.
Slow and steady will win this race to recovery. I'm glad to hear the good news and my prayers will continue.
Keep up your faith.... be up and running soon enough.
thmbsup Keep the faith Brother. We're still prayin for ya.
It is wonderful that your surgery went so well. May you be up to full speed soon and have a long, happy road ahead of you.
Thanks for all your words and prayers! I am slowly progressing. It is just going to take awhile longer to get my strength back. Two surgeries in 30 days has took alot out of me. The doctor gave me til the first of October to go back to work. I did better than that I retired today.
Don't overdue it in your retirement! Take each day as it comes and enjoy life.
