not sure if you`d call this primitive , but it`s a first for me . this started out as a .45 caliber percussion pistol made sometime in the late 60`s early 70`s . some fool ruined the rifling in the barrel , not sure how they did it but there were two grooves cut straight down through the rifling , so what started as a .45 rifled barrel was freshed out to a .50 smoothbore ! stock was redone and barrel refinished ! the case started its life about ten years ago as a high end cookie or candy box made of wood with a plastic window so you could see the product ! picked it up at a yard sale for a buck ! the interior panels are made from doubled corrugated paper and very thin tough upholstery leather , still have a bit I want to do but so far so good ! not sure how good it is , but I figure for having seen one but never making one before the set turned out rather nice ! really surprised I did`nt screw it up !

yeah ! and another good thing is the pistol was basically a freebie , came with a rifle I got for a lot less than it was worth ! all together not counting my time I might have 5 or 6 bucks tied up in it ! ;D it`s going to be christmas gift for a friend !think they`ll like it ! no need to know how cheap I am !
