Title: Summer Shoots Grand Prize Pistol Drawing
Post by: Blackfeet on November 15, 2013
The drawing for the season's end prize, the choice of a flintlock or percussion pistol, generously donated by Pilgrim, will be drawn tomorrow. As noted throughout the season, for each match fired, the shooter gets one chance at the prize. There were 21 matches in total with the entries as follows. Flintboomer, pilgrim, and myself being exempt.   The number beside the name signifies the number of tokens put in the drawing for that shooter. If the winner is a junior, parental permission is required to receive the prize.
There are a total of 62 tokens in the pot.

Pilgrim I'd really like to thank you for your generous offer of one of the pistols but it only seems right that the honor, and prize, goes to Blackfeet for getting the matches going and doing the work involved to keep them going. Running postal matches is a thankless job sometimes and any recognition or prize associated to the ones here belong to him and him alone.

As I said before your generosity is much appreciated but there's a person here that is more deserving than me and I feel he should be the one receiving a prize not me.

Pat,
Very generous and thoughtful. Indicative of the caliber of people I have found in this small fraternity.

Don't make a big deal out of this. I'm just doing what any of you guys would have done. Pilgrim's the one that went above and beyond and deserves a thank you.

I answered PMs from Pilgrim and Blackfeet but don't know if I did it right. If either of you got the messages could you let me know?

No big deal will be made of it. I am honored that you have bestowed upon me this gift, especially knowing that you have also been in the process of running postal matches of your own and know the trials and tribulations of the process.

I was somewhat struck speechless, and to be honest I have had no idea how to respond.

With that said, I want to be very clear in my appreciation of what I have found to be a very special group of people here at the TMotC. I got to know Hank Snow, Pat I, Flintboomer, Pilgrim, Papa,, Hanshi and Moby and have had pleasant interaction with all others involved. It has been a real pleasure and I hope to have another chance to do it in the future.

I am sure that we will find a way to pay it forward thmbsup

I will be posting the winners of the individual high averages in each match as soon as I can but one category was a runaway. Flintboomer is Master of the Novelty Matches.

Perhaps, once I have determined that it is safe to shoot. I did choose the flinch-a-lock and I do believe in being very thorough in my testing. Being an engineer, I can see this taking some time, but rest assured, it will be well worth the wait. I will keep you posted.
