Post by: kingsax26 on November 05, 2013, 12:03:11 AM
I have a question,

I Had a self bow mad for me and I got screwed on the string..... should a string unravel itself?  it appears to made of 2 seperate pieces..dacron maybe?  anyhow the loop at the end has come loose..and therefore is unshootable. can anyone point me to where I can buy a string and what information do i need to know?  This is my first bow  and im completely clueless

I'm sure anyone here that makes bows can make you a string. All that you need to know is the distance from nock to nock & weight.

No a string shouldn't unravel.   I can make you a string, if you want.
I have made many strings and would be happy to make you one.
Need to  know the nock to nock length of the bow along the back of
the bow and the draw weight. Also maybe the width of the tips to get
the end loops the right size.  I would recommend Dacron string for
a self bow.

that would be great ...the knock is 7/8 frome edge to edge and 1/2 inbetween...the string is 64in..ish long maybe 64 1/4... the bow is 68" and pulls approx 35lbs
