Went to my first woods walk today. Didn't shoot all that well, but boy did I have a good time despite a broken ramrod while loading for the forth station. Luckily there was one other shooter in our group with a 42" Bbl. who shared his rod saving a very long walk back for another rod, though it did lead to me shooting one station without a load. rdfce The shoot was set up so that everyone that shot got to pick a prize off the trade blanket in the order you finished. I got a nice knit voyager's cap and manage not to finish in last place. (though 22nd place wasn't far off ). ROFL Like I said, had a great time and can't wait until the next one. thmbsup
Well
I was able to make it back for day two and had even more fun today. I doubled my score from Saturday and jumped up to 11th place in todays shoot. I picked up a nice little patch knife off the prize blanket and donated it back to the club for use in a future match.
Sorry I wasn't able to get any photos....maybe next year?? :applause:

I have always enjoyed the challenge of the woodswalks and novelty shoots at unknown ranges and with strange targets. Thanks to them I have shot a T-Rex, empty owls, angry feathers and many other fine targets.
hntr Woods walks are indeed a lot of fun, I've only been to two of them but am hooked. Very good doings on your part, woody.
Woody Glad you had a Good Time! thmbsup
I now think the Woods Walks are the most fun of all the events! [hmm]
(With the Possible exception of the Big Tall Tale contest + Pass around the Jug at the fire back at camp!) pnic pnic
I won't be able to make anymore woodswalks this year.. HOWEVER, Woody, remember me when spring hits!! I'd like to give the Ol' Hawken a good workout!
