Title: A couple of blades
Post by: hotfxr on June 21, 2013
Got an Amazon gift certificate and it seemed the perfect time to get a dedicated throwing knife. So I picked up what is marketed as "the best throwing knife on the market". It's big, heavy and sharp and it does stick in wood. The other one is a patch knife kit from TOW. Put the walnut scales away and used some Brazilian Cherry. (It goes better with the reddish shooting bag).

I've got some knives here that I made up, they're kind of big but make a nice display. The one Bowie could be a user. Can't post but can send pics if you're interested.

Now THAT my friend is a throwing knife! I have one quite similar, and just this weekend took first in knife and hawk at the Paloose Hills Rondy in Colfax. But more on that later! ;D Also picked up that same blade design with bird's eye maple from a trader for $6. It's not finished and he said he lost interest in it, my gain!

I love the small knife, I have one like it and use it often.  Great as a patch knife and to prepare food as a small camp knife as well.  Have been thinking about making another as a spair.  Hope you injoy yours as much as I do.

Here's a couple shots of the one I got at Palouse Hills a couple weeks ago. Finally finished it. Maple burl wood with
pins made from copper ground wire.

I like those. Did you make them from scratch? If so, what did you use for metal? If I ever do get my forge going, I have some handyfiles that I stickwelded beads of a more malliable metal up and down both sides and plan on beating them together. Some day, hopefully soon.
