Title: it was a good afternoon with father and son smoothrifles
Post by: bowcrazy on April 07, 2013
I got a chance to spend the entire afternoon with my son, shooting our new Mongrel built 28ga. smoothrifles,
did not have my camera on this trip, both guns shot well, we were shooting 20yds mostly with shot my son was shooting
40gr.fff 3thin cards and 60gr. of #6 shot with 1 card over shot he had a good pattern but we did not do any penetration testing on this trip. I found that mine likes 60gr. fff 3 thin cards and 75gr # 6 shot realy well for pattern. we shot 5 rb each
son used 50gr.fff and patched rb. I used 60gr fff and patched rb. each of us shot from a rest and each had all 5 on paper he
group better than I did. we each shot 20 times, and I made the comment to (my brother), when my son was up to shoot one of his last shots that the ignition was fast as lightning on that gun, and brother said that they sound like thunder. so
my son named his gun Lightning, and by his request mine is named Thunder. Like I said on the subject line it was a
good afternoon..
