Here's a handy little do-dad. I make these from left over rod pieces. This one is 3/8" X 6" long. The brass ends are 38 spec. brassies. Punch out primer & drill hole to accomadate either 8-32 or 10-32 & thread them. Turn off case rim-file or belt sander whatever. Drop a bolt down one case, Screw it tight. I dab a little epoxy on it or locktite. Cut it off about 5/16" or so. Measure depth of case & notch rod with a pipe cutter. Trim wood to a slightly tite fit. pour in epoxy
And seat ends. Cross pin with a nail, brass rod something. As we all know the rod under your bbl. only sticks out of the bore about 1" or less on an empty bbl.
So to clean or wipe in the field can be a problem, use this thingy,(http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a555/TomKnight43/Tappedend_zps01dd74c0.jpg)

(http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a555/TomKnight43/Rammerextention_zps011c9bee.jpg) screw it into your rod & you got something to grab ahold of. I sure didn't invent this thing just tried to make it with what's laying around---on the cheap....Tom
thats a good idea. I stuck my ramrod while cleaning my fowler at turkey camp last year
it was chilly and damp out, just couldn't get my fingers to grasp well enough for a while.
I like it! simple and useful. could of used that idea many times...
Thanks Gunmaker Good Idea now I have some more uses for the broken ramrods stacked in the corner! thmbsup
REally fine idea....must make one up for myself...

Now that's a neat idea. I would have never thought of that one.
