Stitched this together while watching the Buckeye game yesterday and turned the stopper and plug today. It will work well with shot for one of my .62 cal.smoothies, or round balls for my .4o cal. rifle Mike is building for me.....besides.....I just can't to have any scrap leather laying around. ROFL

Thanks Linc. I finished this one this morning.
thmbsup Another fine piece of leather work.
Took a few scraps from the shop and put a mallet style short starter together just to use a cut off section of 3/8 ramrod. The head is oak. I'll use it with one of my .62 smoothies. ;D
Woody,
Just saw this post while browsing. Suggestion, go to at least a 1/2" rod for your smoothy short starter. It doesn't take much pressure to snap one and that .62 is a big bore.

Man Woody..your becoming quite crafty! I LIKE all the stuff you've made thus far on this post..and others as well! Keep it up buddy!
doin some nice work there ! got a suggestion . next deer skin ball bag you do . make the neck a little longer with the leather part , wrap a decent guage copper wire around it good and tight , twist it so it dont unwrap . then pull the excess hide down over the wire wrap and glue it down ! looks good and wont wear out as quick as the sinew wrap ! really like them both but find myself rather partial to the second one ! keep up the good work ! thmbsup
Thanks everyone, beowulf I'll put that info in the old mental notebook and use it on the next one. dntn
Exceptionally nice work! thmbsup
