Let me grab my coffee and try a little introduction. I live in the Pacific NW currently watching our first fall storm work it's way north right now. I have been messing around with muzzleloaders for a number of years and always have great plans to do more. Afraid I let a lot of years get behind me, always letting work drag me away, but now I have more time, I retired last year about this time, I know you say well you don't look old enough, but when parts of the pump stop you listen. Not sure what I'm going to do now that I'm all grown up, but muzzleloading is going to be part of it I think!.
Currently I have a couple of Hawkins look a likes, percussion, .58 Enfield replica, something else in the ole safe but escapes me now. Did I mention I like doing reenacting too. I want to try my hand at a kit, would like to try flint too. Do a little trekking, some hunting and just enjoy shooting. Rarely have I ever had a bad day
at the range, well once, long story and would need to sweeten this coffee a bit.
I'm told there may be a builder or two here with some some suggestions. I have ordered several of the how too books from Track and Dixie. I'm open to suggestions and input. As I mentioned before I'm looking at flint, one of the several Virginia rifle kits I've seen strike my fancy. I'm looking for plain not so much pretty.
Look forward to meeting everyone here around the fire, learned a long time ago that listening is a great way to learn. Was it Franklin that said, 'better to keep your mouth shut and let the world think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.'
