I picked up my 62 cal. Centimark fusil today! I can not wait to take her to the range.
That is one sweet looking gun.
Thanks Old salt Here's the other side
Very nice gun Renegade! dntn i have to ask how is the accuracy in a smoothbore gun?The history channel and other programs try to make it seem as if these guns are extremely inaccurate.I personally believe they are exaggerating.
Nice looking gun Renegade. I know I really like my 62 and I'm looking to get a second one in the near future. thmbsup
Issac, They are not as accurate as rifles. this is my first smoothie so I have a lot to learn. from what I hear is they are pretty good out to 60 yds, I hear some claim that they can get out to 100 yds fairly concistent, which is perfect for my style of hunting, I like to get close to the game I'm hunting. I also plan on using it for turkey. thmbsup
I hope you are able to have fun and have a good hunting season with it.Hopefully there isn't that big of a learning curve, once again it is a very beautiul gun.
thmbsup Wow Renagade that wood is beautiful.
Wonderful! thmbsup
Just watch out for the Badger He likes those French BP guns! pnic pnic
(Me Too) hdslp ROFL
SWEEEEEET, Very nice Flintlock and the wood is beautiful, with nice finish
Thanks guys! This is my first smoothbore so the how to questions will soon follow. [hmm]

I have seen and handled smoothbores that are incredibly accurate considering that the RB coming out of the barrel isn't spinning. Just the other day I was at Stormrider51's place casting some RB and checking out his new smoothy. We had set up a target at about 25 yards and I managed to hit a little low but on the bullseye shooting offhand. It also patterned pretty well using some #8 shot that he scavenged from an unused .410 shell.
You'll just have to tell us how she shoots, which I hope is as good as she looks.
Just what I need, something else to drool over & wish I had. That's a fine looking piece. dntn
That is a beautiful gun. Enjoy.
that brings back memories ! mine would produce five shot groups at 50 yards about the size of a silver dollar , and at 25 yard five shot one hole groups were a common thing ! one gun I really wish I`d kept !
I still have a Centermark I had built about 1985. From a rest, it shoots five shot groups about the size of a golf ball at 30 yards. At 100 yards it is easy to hit the bullseye on a standard rifle 100 yard target. But I never shot her much past 100 yards. At 25 to 75 yards she is super deadly on about any game I've ever tried to hit. My wood is not as gorgeous as yours but still looks super and many times I have hunted with my Bess to avoid getting her out in bad weather or damaging terrain. I'll make a picture of her and post later in the day.
I know she will be your favorite rifle!!

Non Mon a me.... I have taken the pledge and will not covet my neighbors smoothie...
I'll just wait until he isn't looking and abscond with it! :mini-devil-28492:

My 28 year old Centermark is still my most accurate smoothbore!
What barrels do they use at Centermark?
Nice gun Renegade ! chrrs
Quite often I'll take my Bess to rifle shoot's and place fairly high in the ranking's. Never took top prize, but 3rd and 4 place were common. The accuracy all depend's on how much time you devote to working with her. More than likely you'll not be very good for a while, but stick with her and she'll treat you right.
NEVER just take a shot! What that means is ALWAY'S have an aim point when shooting your gun,ALWAY'S. The old addage"Practice makes perfect" is WRONG! PERFECT practice makes perfect! Consistant sight picture is crucial. Alway's show the same amount of barrel, change the impact point for different distances. Guy's who change powder loads for different distance's are a very big pet peeve for me.
great looking gun, nice wood. Looks like she will shoot straight, let us know.
Thanks for all the compliments and good advise my friends! thmbsup I will let you know how she shoots. I'm sure it's going to take a while to get used to the smoothbore but I'll get there.
I will also keep my eye on Red Badger I'm not liking the way he's looking at my smoothbore. pnic

I gotz to see Renegades baby yesterday. WHAT A BEAUTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice weight and balance. He came up with a pretty good load for patch and ball. Shot up a rabbit paper target at 25yds. .62cal ball leaves a mighty impressive hole in a paper rabbit! She's a keeper. No doubt about it. dntn hntr hntr hntr

I used the Linc recipe for my load: 1) Lincs patch lube
2) Lincs cast rbs
3) Lincs .014 pathes
4) Lincs bore buttons
The only thing I did was shoot the gun. [hmm] thmbsup
ROFL Well you did also aim it. ROFL I really didn't do anything but have the materials for you to try. You did all the rest. dntn
Probably just as well you didn't go to the shoot today. It was a real bust. I think there were 6 or 7 shooters today. Wish I had a hammock. I would have took a nap in front of the fan.
The spring shoot this year wasn't much better. In the past years years at Elbridge I used to get there extra early so I could just get a place to park. This year is the lowest attendance I've seen. Too bad, I hope it picks up.
From what I hear it is this way at most all the shoots. I hope it makes a come back also.
That's great you found a good patch, ball, and lube combination for your rifle Renegade thmbsup.Sounds like it's a keeper.
She sure is. thmbsup. Isaac I wasn't able to call you last Thursday, send me a pm and let me know when would be a good time to call you.
