Ok,sorry for the thread necromancy but thanks all for the patterns.Now that my buck skins nearly done (hanging on the rack/stretcher to dry right now.I used tannin and tea to cure it and let it soak for 5 months) I plan on making some knee-high moccasins from it.  --Nate--

what would you suggest for 1840s footwear in southern ca. I am now wearing brograns with leather botas.

Texas Ranger and I are in the same basic area - between Corona and South Orange County.  We plan to be at Holcomb Valley for the rendezvous. Will you be there with a pile of goods?
