My friend's father was diagnosed with throat cancer about 6 months ago and it initially responded to chemotherapy, shrinking enough to look like it might allow surgical intervention. However, his most recent PET scan revealed that it was no longer responding and was again growing in size, requiring even more aggressive chemo to his already weakened body. I fear that his chances of survival are slim at best and that he is now in stage IV, but I am not giving up hope just yet, so I am requesting prayers from my friends here on TMC. His name is Bill Kinnear of Universal City, Texas and his daughter Gretchen Kinnear of South Carolina.
Thank you,
William

ON MY PRAYER LIST...
Consider it done.
He's not doing very well and the tumor is growing rapidly. That's all I can say for the moment without becoming depressed, so I'll leave it at that.
Still keeping the family on our list....

I am afraid that bad news is all around this week, as Bill's latest scans show the tumor is growing rapidly and has spread. He is down to 134 pounds and receives his food through a tube in his stomach. At this point I believe that he is now in the terminal stage and will go into hospice care very soon. It will be a true miracle if he recovers and survives another year at this point and I still pray for one.
I have twice survived both leukemia and thyroid cancer so Bill's family looked to me for hope and inspiration, which I am happy to give but the news has hit me very hard, coupled with the fact that I have another friend battling this disease as well. I pray that my friend Bill can find peace with the Lord and an end to his pain and suffering, either by being cured or in everlasting life with God in Heaven.
Amen and Amen.
William,I feel for you brother. Will pray for relief and peace. Also for you my friend,a prayer for strength and peace in your life.
Thank you for all the prayers, Bill is now in a much better place as he passed away this morning shortly after being taken off the breathing machine while surrounded by family and friends.
My Condolences to you and his family
I'm sorry to hear this. But one thing I've learned in all the years I've been raising dogs is; There comes a time when each and all of us must pass on. It's hard on those of us left behind, but we all must follow the same trail to the end.
