If anyone is interested the June 9th meeting of the Salt Fork Craftsmen will be at my home near Tulsa Ok -
If you are in the neighborhood stop by, my camp will be set up near the shop area
PM me for more details
Badger will try to make it if I'm not working ect. but sounds like its going to be worth the trip never know may have to drag old salt along with me
They double boked the June meeting so I have offered to take July instead... Looks like the 14th of July is the date. Eerything else is the same, Just have to pray for a July without a fire ban!
Consider me there Red Badger! Don't believe I have anything planned that weekend....I sure hope not anyway!
Just found Salt Forks monthly newsletter for June. I imagine I will go ahead and join up at that meeting. Just reading through that newsletter really has my interest up. 20 bucks a year is nothing to complain about either. I really wish I had known about that class you took....maybe another will be scheduled soon within driving distance...
yes there wil be more set up and I will be talking about hosting a basic class here at my place when the president and workshop co-ordinater are here in July
Good to hear! My oldest is pretty excited about blacksmithing as well...unfortunately he will be gone for the next few weeks or so with his Mom (for the summer).
Monkeywright, old Salt, you know how shy I am, so sure be good to see some friendly faces at the melt down party in July.
WE are all set for Saturday - No fire ban in effect. Should be a good day with lots of hot steel being pounded on. Plenty of food and some good fellowship and ideas being exchanged. I'm setting up the camp tomorrow so the club members can see what a Rendezvous camp looks like, might even convince another smith or two to start comming to some of the rendezvous!
The meeting was finally held at my house, here are a few pictures Bluebird (Old Salts wife) took for us....

Thanks for the pictures. How was the heat? Looks like everyone was having a good time.
The heat wasn't as bad as I feared it would be... only got to 101 by noon. We had plenty of water avalable and made sure everyone was staying hydrated. Moved into the house and A/C for lunch and called it a day after the lunch. I have not heard any negitive comments so far and one or two of the members have asked to come back out and help me finish getting the smithy set up and get a roof over it!
Too bad you are so far from most of us...we would like to drop in for some of that fun!!
Doug
