Here's a handgonne that's kind of halfway done. I got the barrel from the Rifle Shoppe. It's 13 inches including the socket, the bore is 10 3/4 inches long, .75 caliber.

I thought about rust browning it, but I like it the way it is so I decided against that (for now anyway).
I say halfway because I also got a serpentine lever with it and I haven't decided if I'm going to add it to this gonne or leave it the way it is. I was thinking of doing a simple job and just nailing it to the side.
The tiller is oak, 49 inches long. It was originally a 6 foot staff I got at a martial arts supply store in Chinatown in Seattle. I bought it for my son but it was too heavy for him, so it ended up standing in the corner for several years. It was already nicely stained and finished so I figured this was the perfect use for it. I whittled one end to fit into the socket, then cut the other end off to the length I wanted. I sanded the cut end, touched it up with a little stain and voila! Ready for battle.
I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I'll try to do that soon.
I see the handgonne and it is neat. I can't tell if that short thing next to it is a flinter or cap. Just kiddin'. Take care...

It's one of them new fangled cap guns that loads from the bottom.... period correct for the late 20th century.. a long way from our time period and technically against our rules to post, but as it is the only picture with the full gonne I will leave it stand.
Sorry, I didn't realize it was against the rules. I just thought I'd include something to give an idea of the size. I deleted it.
No issue here you can put it back in if you wish - I understood it was for a size comparison...
I replaced it with another one.
Interesting piece, be sure to let us know what you think when you do fire it and post a picture of it being fired if you can.
You sound like you will fit right in here.
I'd like to see you shoot it too. It would be a nice picture if you could show it makin' smoke. Take care...
Yeah, I think I've got a camera tripod around here somewhere. I'll see what I can do.
