Tough news indeed. The man has all my thoughts. I count myself lucky that after 35+
years of running saws for a living that I still have all 10, and only a couple of scars to
show for it.
Prayers for a speedy recovery on the way.

All fingers are intact but the bandages and splints will remain on for at least one month. I told him to take his pain meds and heal up.

Hope you heal fast and well. I,ve been running power saws for 50+ years and had many close calls , only have a few chunks missing , Not hard to make a wrong move with power tools.

Thanks for the good wishes. The only argument I will put up to the suggestions for a speedy recovery are about those pain meds. I refer sometimes to not having always been a very nice person (and some today will say that's a relative thing.... ROFL) -- I'm twenty years clean but till March of 1991 was a bad alcoholic and narcotics addict -- and today they hand me a prescription for Oxycontin of all things. I won't be filling it. So if you're inclined to say a prayer for me, make it for the fortitude to get through this with the help of plain ol' Ibuprofen for the rough spots.
And any prayer said for me I wish tenfold to the folks whose suffering has been the source of prayer requests before now. My pain is because of a stupid mistake that a first-semester woodworking student in high school would know better than to make. I can hardly place this self-inflicted discomfort on a level with the suffering of people who brought none of it on themselves. thmbsup

BTW I am able to use the keyboard (obviously) but it's a very slow and uncomfortable process. So you will see posts from me, just not very many.
Not much else to do -- so far I can't figure out a single thing in the shop I can do with just the use of one hand.

You can still go out into the shop and pick your nose or scratch you ass.....course that might not be what you were thinking about...

Prayers for the strenght to avoid the temptation, Mongrel. And don't be too down on yourself about how it happened. We all do stupid things from time to time. Some are just better at hiding it than others. &)
