OK guys, I wasn't sure where if I should even post this, but what the heck....Just for the fun of it, let's run with it! I picked this up at a tiny little country gun/parts shop awhile back. the owner asked if I had any Idea what it might be? I thought it might be a old pocket screwdriver/ bottle opener, he didn't think it was a bottle opener because he tried it and it wouldn't work. Anyway I thought I'd drop it in one of my flintlock shooting bags for use as a screwdriver and pressure knapping tool (the little tip works, it's not the best but in a pinch...). So what do you think? Any thoughts on what it really is? strpot

Not sureWhat it is but I do have question? Can you use the point to push the wadge pin out far enough to get a hold of it?
"Looks" like a combo screwdriver/bottle opener.

I agree hanshi, but it fills all these other tasks also. Hopefully some one will know for sure. ;D

Does it say "Singer" anywhere on it [hmm]?
This is a very rare early American most likely Revolutionary War contract musket tool made by "Ye Old Snap On Tool co." 'SNTY"

No markings at all??????????????
It is a key .....
most likey from a set of handcuffs/leg irons dating around 1840 - 1850 the pin is to set the lock just like a modern set....
Not Handcuff/legiron Unless after 1860 Keys for that time peroid comepletely different, Will see if I can find mine andf post a pic
The end that has the flat (flatish) end on it does not look like it had anything connected to it, or anything had broken off of it, so I would think that it was not a key.
It's a period correct paint can opener....... blah
I finaly found the hand cuff and leg irons and the keys. One key dose not fit all
