so what do you use
what caliber
what type of lock
Depends on what I am shooting 32, 36, 40, 45. I use 3f 50, 54, 58. 10 12 16 ga I use 2f for the canon I use 1f
3f for any caliber and they are all percussion. No flint. I really prefer to bowhunt - But late in the season, out comes the smoke pole - I don't like being cold...
3f in all my ML's. All flintlocks.
FFFg up to 40 cal and all pistol
FFg 45 and up
3F with everything including my smoothbore. It just seems to work fine, is economical and is a habit.
3F in the .32 and 2F in the .50 and the smoothbore. 4F in the pan
i use FFg in all my rifels so far because thats all i have right now thmbsup
I use FFFG because it is what I always have used and works with both my pistols and rifles..... I do have a can of 4f that I bought for priming until I figured out that 3f works as well if not better....
3f for my pistol and the .45s, 2f for the .50 and .54.
All percussion.
I use 3fffg in my .50 rifle and pistol. Both are percussion and they snap that ball right out with no hangfires...
3f in everything except the .54 with the Sharon barrel. I use 2f in it because I keep winning 2f and I don't use it in anything else.
I shoot .32, .40, .45, .50, .54 and .58. Yes, I use 3f in the .58, only the .54 gets 2f to use it up, and it shoots 3f just fine too. I shoot both flint and percussion.
My .50 prefers 3f while my .54 needs 2f.
I use 3f 9mm to 45 cal and 2f 50 cal to 69 no canons yet
Been using 2F in .50 gpr and 3F in pistols and 4F in priming pan. But today I will try 3F in .50 Pa rifle and also prime with same. sure would be easy and cheap to carry only one powder. Pobably more PC and I will reduce powder charge and that will give more shots per pound. Even more PC. Thanks to all here onTRADITIONAL MUZZLELOADER ON THE CHEAP.

fff in a 50 cal. flint
and, if I ever get my 62 it will get fed fff also, Steve sites all his rifles using fff before shipping with final target.
Hello the camp.
I use 3f. I have two longrifles, .36 and .50, and a Bess. I tried working up a load for the Bess using 2f but I get slightly better accuracy with the 3f and much less fowling.

I shoot goex 3f in a 50 cal. percussion johnathon Browning rifle. 70 grain is what i shoot the most.
i use FFFg in all my guns (.50 renegade and two .44 revolvers)
Two .54's. Both caplock. Have worked up good loads using both 3F and 2F for both. Can get 777 to work almost as good as 3F in one of them and still trying to get it to work in the other. I use CCI caps and some sort of stainless nipple that the name escapes me now. One gets shot with RB only and the T/C , well I'm still wringing out conical loads for that thing. Both have a 1-48 twist.
FFg in everything .32 -.54, pistols, revolver, shotgun. Chrono showed the 3F had velocity spikes. FFg has lower velocity standard deviation.
FFFFg in priming pan.

For me it's 3F for just about everything but I do find 2F to be good for certain applications, primarily smoothbore.
swiss 3f for all ml's and swiss 1-1/2f for bpcr. [conf] ;D
have`nt used 2f in years , I`ve used 3f in everything from a .32 squirrel rifle right up too a .69 cal jaeger rifle and a .62 cal tulle ! also use it to prime !never had the slightest problem !
I use 3F in all my rifles (.45 and .50 cal.) but 2F in my 12 ga. shotguns. The shotguns pattern better with 2F.
I prime my flinters with 4F.
3f in .32 Squirrel rifle
3f in.36 revolver
2f in .50 Hawken
all percussion [conf]
3f in .50 and smaller
3f as primer
2f in the .54 (thanks to Dogshirt)
>1f in cannon
I use 3F in a .54 because....
Cheaper than 2F, because I can use less for the same fps.
Less fouling than 2F.
More reliable ignition.
FFg in everything but the pan and that's FFFFg or Null B.
