Thanks all, I did the indian an traper, before any art school roght after I was released from Uncle Sam in 75. Spent 5 years in college for printmaking and landscape painting. I married in 82 and started a company faux finishing and mural painting which lead to my conserbation work with furniture. I keep up with painting and filled 5 schetch books with pen & inks for my personial pleasure. If you would like to see my work check out my shop on FB. Colonial restoration studio.
hey davehawk i sent you a PM
DAMN! Very nice indeed!!! thmbsup
Ya gots to have the natural talent or all the schools in china won't do no good unless you into that weird stuff that don't look at all like what nature intended! Now if you can do a Piccaso, or some of those and get that kind of money, course you probabily dead and long gone before that comes about ,or that was some of their fates!! VERY nice work and thanks again for sharing. chrrs
Thanks Lady, My painting instructor in college asked me my 1st year why I wanted to attend the school with was a 2 year college. I told him that the masters learned from masters and you and the others here are just that. Allen was the curator at the Phillips in DC also so I was under awesome coverage for learning. He saw in me some talent and began teaching me conservation of painting and artifacts. Here is a painting I finished up a few months ago. The Gentleman was a Textile mill owner in Richmond which burned to the ground in the Civil War. This painting was done before the War. It was retrieved from an old Doll House where many years of neglect took it's toll. Out of the few hundred I've done this was the most rewarding to me.

Thanks all, now I have exposed myself, I just hope I can help out here in regards to restoring period furnishings and artifacts.
Nice work!
Seems to me you can preserve history thru your drawing and painting in addition to furniture and etc. Thanks again for sharing and hope to see more, you have the talent - just let your knowledge and learning flow thru your pen and colors for those who are and aren't into the blackpowder but long to relive history, " a picture is worth a thousand words" :applause: :applause:
Restoration of the documentation and images from the past is a great responsibility, and it appears you have a talent for it...
I am sure I speak for most of us when I say thank you for the job you do in the preserving and conservation of these items.
Preservation is a great thing but if you can preserve like that how are you on copying the masters? I need a Rembrandt or Van Goegh (SP) for the living room... pnic
Red I could copy them but don't see a need to, there are plenty of guys in jails for doing so. LOL
this is 1760 there are no copyright laws yet
No copyright laws BUT they did have DUELs and unexplained dissapearances, hmmmmmmmmmm Much like modern times.
Hammer you can copy but the size has to be larger of smaller. It can not be the same size.
they are awesome love the elk.
