No one has posted anything on this thread lately, so I thought that I would take up some space with a little engraving/scrimshaw project that I just finished up for a client in the Northwest. And yes, seems our nation's symbolic bird has entered the picture another time......but I did him a little different!
Thanks, Rick

Beautiful work! Glad to see someone else doing some German immigrant work. I did a Distelfink on my horn as a nod to my German ancestry. I posted pics here a while ago. No where near the quality of your work, but it was my first attempt at scrimshaw work.
Thanks everybody for the comments! I truly appreciate all of them!
With my last name being Froehlich. My German ancestry likes to pop up fairly often in my horn work! Probably needless to say, but the person I made this foe is a "Kraut" also!
Dsrtfox, Hang in there! Your doing fine! Hornmaking and engraving (note I didn't call it scrimming) takes a fair amount of patience and lots and lots of practice and after 35 plus years of doing it. I still learn something new all the time!
Good luck and thank you all,
Rick flwa
