Found a way to get a few of them here recently. You have to watch ebay and see which ones stay low in price. Last month my wife got me a green 4 point for $65 and got herself the white striped 4 point for $70. Keep an eye on it and don't bid until the last minute!!!!
I'm on FEEBAY alot buying and selling, if you really want an item you gotta watch that last minute bidding because some people set there bid limit high, and if you want to rebid sometimes there isn't enough time. I've missed a few that way. But I learned to put my first bid as high as I am willing to go and hope it doesn't go that high. Just my two cents worth. That was a good score on those blankets dntn
LMAO..... that's the blanket I didn't get back online in time to bid for. Your wife did very well!
I have gotten genuine Hudson Bay as well as other brands that look nearly the same, like JC Penny's "Golden Dawn" blankets for under $40 off of flea bay as well as from Goodwill's online auction, although you have to be real careful of hidden handling fees and shipping charges when dealing with Goodwill. The trick is to start looking for a blanket when it's too warm to actually use one, then to check out "vintage" blankets. You'd be surprised at how much a little spot here and there will affect the perceived value of a blanket. If you're will to clean it yourself or know of a reasonable dry cleaner you can save a bunch of money.

Could have been, that month there were
a lot of those hb's up for sale. She wanted the white for the bed, said I can't take it out in the woods. So she got me my green one.
Pendleton makes wool blankets in both traditional designs and colors as well as plaids, solids, Tartan check. Some might not be HC but they'll keep you warm nonetheless. The JC Penny brand looks and feels exactly like the Hudson Bay but can be found a lot cheaper.
I've picked up a couple jc pennies for 20.00 a piece off craigslist. There was nothing wrong withem.
I hadn't even thought of Craig's list, but that's an excellent price right there.
Jf you hit the Army-Navy stores you can occasionally find some surplus blankets made in the Whitney Mills. One is the British white hospital blanket and there are two others that I don't know the country they were made for, Grey with purple stripe at each end and green with a white stripe at each end. Not all these blankets were made by Whitney, only some and it's easy to tell the difference between them.
My buddy bought the grey one made a nice capote out of it, I think he said its from italy ucrzy I don't know let me hit the jug somemore and think on it.
Yep, there are several different designs from Italy, and they're good blankets from what I've been told.
Made this capote from one of those Italian blankets, they are good blankets.

Done been sold
Very interesting site , just visited they got some good looking plunder. I like the wolf lap blanket, don't like the price.
You could always make an offer and what's the worst they can do, say no? I think if they've had it long enough they'd be willing to take less.

Found these for sale;http://www.riverjunction.com
Two 72X90 striped blankets that look to be in farily good condition.
done gone!
Lol, well I got a blue one a couple of weeks ago. All I'll say is......the shipping cost just about the same as the blanket. blah blah blah blah
a Whitney 4 point at Goodwill's online auction for less than $16.00. Shipping and handling fees would be about that much as well, so it might cost a little over $30 to get shipped to your door.

Looks like the moths got to the tape measure too!
Maybe one of those giant metal eating moths? :o
It would still be good for projects or just as a cover at night.. I'll be keeping my eye on it. Thanks for the post William..

I picked up some info when the link to River Junction Traders was posted. I have met the owner that we know as "Many Hats"a lot of years ago. . I'll give him a call after the holidays and see if he has any black powder stowed away. There is also a Cabelas across the river from him.
I once bought a nice Hudson Bay 4pt. for $25 that was over the lap and a heater of a flea mkt. vendor. He looked close to death so I wouldn't take it till he had a chance to replace it the next week.
We enjoy a nice Whitney on the bed in the colder winter,
As an aside- There used to be a trader in Iowa that made lots of capotes for a place in alaska. The cruse tourists there bought them as native goods. Strange ways of the world. lol
