my grandfather just gave me this the stock was hand carved by the late roger bruss

its a 36 my idk what kinda wood but it os a beauty the picture doesnt do it any justice

Beautiful! It looks expensive.
Cherish the rifle and learn to use it well and safely because Grandfathers aren't around forever. When he is gone you will look at that rifle and it will bring back great memories.
If you can, get together with him and trade off shots with it. Make it a competition if you want to but don't worry about who wins. Just enjoy shooting with him.

In case you haven't put it together from what the others have said, Kris, that's curly maple, and a very nice piece. Much prettier than that and you'd have a rifle almost too pretty to use.

Your grandfather must think the world of you and what you're trying to do, getting into this lifestyle.  thmbsupto the both of you.

That's a sharp looking stock!! I hope you thanked your grandfather properly. That is a really nice thing he did for you.. Thank you for the picture.
