congrats, although i dont think that discussion of actual religous denominations and beliefes are not a good idea, achievements of deaconship is something to be proud of.  Whether is decon, elder, or other positions within the form of worship of your choice, they are all accomplishments to be proud of.

Congratulations!  that is an accomplishment to be proud of...

The basic premise of the no religious talk is to prevent disagreements from happening.  Something like this is an achievement that should be recognized, just as becoming a rabbi, Imam, or any other religious position would be... 

That being said I do not want to see any disparaging remarks please...
