have not been on the forum,s ,much as of late ,so thought id just check in and let ever one know what is going on , the young man that my wife and i have raised since he was 2, has been taken from us ,and i can do nothing , his "mother" for lack of  better title has taken a fancy to a truck driver from Oklahoma, and has decided to move in, so she  has taken Kevin with her , in the last 10 years he has become as much a part of our family as my own children and to lose him with out warning is very hard for me to deal with , i only hope that the fellow will guide Kevin on the right path  i have spent a lot of time with him and he has his head on straight but to be up-rooted and taken away from everything could send him in a different direction my worry is that when the truck driver is on a run and the mother is out running the bars who will see after Kevin  .i never worried about this before because he had his own room here and stayed with us more than he did with her but now he is so far away i cant help him ,when he left a large part of my heart went with him and i just haven't felt the same and may never so  i just wanted to let you all it is just hard for me to spend time on this or any forum with  the thought of Kevin  on my mind

You've made a big difference in his life.  He won't forget and someday may be back.  Sometimes life is just not fair, especially where kids are concerned.

I know how you feel Tom, 30 years ago I lost someone very special to me...and it still hurts to think of him. But, you will learn to cope and enjoy life again...just hang on!

You have raised him right, Tom.  There are things that I am sure you taught him that will sustain him though these trials.  He will not forget the family that cared for him.  I know where your heart is and I know you taught that to Kevin, as well. It going to be difficult now, but you will be able one day to look with pride on the man that he has become.  And you and Robin will have had a strong influence on that man.

I know what you are going through, we have had several Foster kids in and out of our house over the years, and every time it has been heart wrenching to see them go back to their mom. But we still hear from most of them, on a regular basis, and they are mostly doing alright. So keep your chin up and try to keep in touch with him, it'll make a huge difference just to know that you are there for him if he needs you.
